My name is Jason Hunt.  I started working in the log furniture business when I turned sixteen.  I worked for my father's company in Michigan.  I started out in the factory where I worked the numerous different tasks of creating/manufacturing the numerous pieces of log furniture.  As the years went by and I advanced in schooling I eventually ended up doing some of the accounting and sales processing for the company.  I was also given the opportunity to handle some customer service calls.  This was a great experience for me as I got to know all aspects of the log furniture business including being afforded the opportunity to build a rapport with other prestigious log furniture companies.  I feel the most valuable benefit I gained while working in my family’s company was seeing first hand what outstanding customer service will do for a business not only with clients, but with all other aspects of business as well. 

I relocated to Tennessee to continue college after I was no longer able to advance my education any further at home. While in Tennessee, I had the opportunity to learn how to design websites.  The internet was relatively new at the time which made the possibilities of all the ideas in my head intriguing to say the least. 

In 1998 I decided to create my own website and started my company as J Hunt Enterprises (www.jhuntenterprises.com).  I decided to sell log furniture online.  Based on my research in 1998, we were the first log furniture “store” website to be on the internet   At first, I was only selling my family’s furniture but still gaining popularity by word of mouth from happy customers (thank you all!).  However, due to the success we were having online, I started getting contacted by other log furniture companies wanting me to sell for them as well.  Some of which I had already developed a sound relationship through contact with working for my parents.  While with other companies I have more recently been able to develop a relationship only after researching their products to ensure that an acceptable level of quality was met.    Because it is my personal goal to provide products that “only” meet the highest level of quality we currently only sell for a limited number of companies.  However, please be assured that we are working diligently to continue to grow by offering you the best products available, while keeping outstanding customer service first as we believe it is most important!!!

You won’t hear us boast about how many companies we sell for.  You will however hear us boast about the companies we do sell for.  We make a point to develop strong trusting relationships with the companies we sell for and because of this; we are pleased to be able to guarantee the furniture we sell.  If you have a question or a problem with anything, PLEASE give us the opportunity to correct it and make things right.  If the knowledge I have from working with log furniture since I was sixteen isn’t enough we will do whatever is necessary to get the solution for you. Also because our main factory is my family’s factory we are able to do quite a few custom pieces as well.  If you don’t see what you are looking for on our site there is a good chance we can make it for you.

Early on I made a point to ask for opinions of the site and what my customers would like to see different or even easier.  We found that customers want a website that is easy to use and find everything they are looking for as well as secure for them to purchase from.  Through the continuation of getting client’s opinions we decided in late 2003 early 2004 to change our website drastically.  People were not associating J Hunt Enterprises with log furniture so our first step was to create a better business name and a new logo.  Thus JHE’s Log Furniture Place came to be. 

It took several months of research to find a competent web designer to assist me with the site as this was a redesign that I wanted to go above and beyond what I could teach myself.  A new host was found that could handle the larger amount of traffic we expected as well as offer a verified safe and secure checkout area. 

Thanks to all of your help I feel that we are well on our way to a much friendlier website.  The comments on the ease of use of our site come in almost daily now and lately we have been seeing our layout and categorization duplicated on one of our competitor’s sites which tells me we must be doing something right!  (It appears as our site becomes more and more popular that there are competitors out there who are not only copying our descriptions and images but also our content and  making variations of our website name which will lead you to their own site.  Please bookmark our site to make sure that this does not happen to you.  Please feel free to call or email us with any questions/comments regarding this matter.)
