Our Lakeland Full over Full Log Bunk Bed is made from clean peeled Northern White Cedar logs. The sturdy construction of our Lakeland Bunk Beds means they will last for years. The mortise and tenon construction not only enhances the rustic look of the bunk beds, but also makes for a solid, sturdy construction. The creamy white color of the white cedar logs lets the bunk beds mix and match with most any rustic or log bedroom furniture, while the clean peeled wood gives a slightly more contemporary look to the furniture, which allows it to compliment the decor of your lakeside retreat or country cottage.

- Is this Bunk Bed difficult to put together?
- Hi JIm,
No it is not very difficult. The bed will come partially assembled. The headboard/footboard section will be assembled as well as the safety rails. Figure on assembly of 45 minutes for a first time. 20 minutes or so for the second time assembling one.
Thank you,

- What is a "bunkie board"? I have no idea if I need to order one or not.
Thank you! - Hi Dottie,
The bunkie board is a replacement for a box spring/foundation for the mattress. It is thinner than a box spring so when used on a bunk bed you end up with more head room. If you do not already have a bunkie board or don't want to use plywood or something similar as an alternative then you will need to order them so that the mattress doesn't fall through the supports.

- Is this bed available as a queen over queen ? (I don't see one listed)
I like the ladder design better than the Northwoods which is shown in Q/Q. It looks like the opening would make it easier to get in and out of it.
What slat system does it use ? - Hi Dec,
It can be custom made as one. That is no problem at all.
It does use a log support system and the queen would have a tongue and groove board for the bunkie board if the bunkie board is chosen.

- I may be repeating this question but here goes anyway.
I need to know if I could get this bed in a full over queen or queen over queen.
And if so cost and how much this would change the outer dimensions.
I've decided I want a bed with the opening at the top of the ladder - not one like the northwoods design where you have to climb over the foot railing all the way at the top. The one shown in this picture is what I want except I need the length of a queen or at least a XL full which would also be OK. I'm looking to make a selection very soon. - Hi Dec,
Yes, we can custom build the Lakeland bed in either size. It would extend the width of the bed to 62" for the full over queen and the queen over queen would be 67" wide. The length would increase by 5"
I can definitely work up a quote for you on this - please feel free to email us and I'll get that sent over to you.

- Do I need to order a matress for both the top and bottom full bunk beds or does the mattress come with it? I know I need the bunkie boards but I am not certain about the mattress. Thank you.
- Hi Deb,
Great question - the mattresses are sold separately so they will need to be purchased for both top and bottom bunks.
