This classic, spindle style log bed has graced American homes throughout the land. A wonderful addition to any rustic style home or any home in need of some rustic style, this bed is as comfortable as it is charming. Handcrafted in Montana using solid, American grown wood, each piece is skip peeled by hand using old-fashioned draw knives for a one-of-a-kind look, making this piece as unique as it is functional. The mortise and tenon joinery system employed by our artisans has been used for millennia to join multiple components into a single, solid and strong assembly thus ensuring a truly heirloom quality piece that will last for generations to come. Two log side rails per side increase the strength and rigidity while simultaneously adding value. This is a complete bed and will include headboard, footboard, frame and side rails. Some assembly required.

Value of the Product Quality of the Product “Great look and great value”
Bought this as a King-size in clear finish for our condo. Was delivered mostly together, had only to attach the rails (with huge lag bolts) and lay the slats. I love how the mattress sits within the bed rails - you can't see from the picture, but there is a metal frame the inside of the bottom rails where that slats are laid. This keeps the mattress from sliding around. The slats themselves are 2x4s. I found it quite stable, but the 2x4s did flex slightly on first use. If this is an issue, pick up 1 or 2 at a lumber yard where they are pretty cheap. Alternatively, you could cut some center supports and screw them to the slats. Overall, its a great bed and looks fantastic with our other rustic and western decor.

- I have a deep, heavy-duty core memory foam mattress that doesn't require a box spring if the bed frame itself has adequate inner support. Does this bed have any cross-pieces that will allow me to do without a box spring?
- Hi Joni,
This bed will have a standard metal bed frame. I personally would use some type of foundation/support under the mattress with this bed frame.
