The Silver Creek collection is available with a clear pre-catalyzed lacquer finish which preserves the natural colors of the aspen wood or you may opt for a honey-glaze finish which will add extra color to your furniture. - When buying just the headboard, what is needed for the mattress frame? Are the items needed included with the headboard or available for purchase seperately?

A headboard mattress frame is all that is needed. It will bolt right onto the headboard. The metal mattress frames can be purchased at any local mattress store. We don't sell them separately as they would end up costing more after shipping than what they do locally.
